The Super Queens of South Sudan
Yei Joint Stars Football Club is a professional women’s football club based in Yei, South Sudan, proudly known as the Super Queens.
Founded by Club President Eng. Lemi William, Yei Joint Stars has grown into one of the leading forces in South Sudanese women’s football, combining a proud identity rooted in Yei with an ambition that extends far beyond the borders of South Sudan.
The club was among the founding members of the South Sudan Women’s National League, which was launched in 2019 by the South Sudan Football Association. Since the establishment of the national league, Yei Joint Stars has built a remarkable record of success, winning the South Sudan Women’s League title six times.
But the Super Queens’ story is not defined by domestic success alone.
Yei Joint Stars has consistently carried the name of South Sudan onto the regional stage. The club has participated in all six CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifiers, establishing itself as a regular representative of South Sudan in one of the region’s most important women’s football competitions.
That journey reached another significant milestone when Yei Joint Stars advanced to the semi-final stage of the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifiers.
For the Super Queens, the achievement represents the continuation of a journey that began in Yei and has steadily expanded onto the regional stage.
